Brecon

Brecon is an historic market town at the heart of the Brecon Beacons and a great base for exploring the wild Welsh Hills of South Wales.

Being active outdoors is a key part of any visit, from climbing South Wales' highest peak Pen-Y-Fan to sailing or canoeing at Langorse Lake or Fishing on the River Usk.

Brecon also has an active arts and music scene with a number of arts and crafts galleries and shops, cinema and theatre. Check out Artbeat Brecon or come and see a National Theatre production at Theatr Brycheiniog.

Brecon is part of the Welsh food rennaissance and has a weekly farmers market and annual food festival in October. Whilst you are in town visit our local microbrewery, The Brecknockshire Brewery and try their beers in the local pubs. And don't forget to buy some local produce at the market on Tuesday and Friday.
